As a Rochester wedding photographer, I had the incredible honor of documenting the celebration of Jaylan and Zach’s marriage. Jaylan and Zach were officially married in the summer of 2020, surrounded by a small gathering of family members, but were unable to hold a large celebration with all their loved ones until the fall of 2023. For Jaylan and Zach they were especially excited to see both families finally be able to come together.
Rochester, Jaylan’s hometown, became the backdrop for their celebration. Upon visiting the Hyatt in downtown Rochester, an instant connection with the venue and the warm reception from the wedding coordinator solidified their choice. It was evident – this was the perfect place to commemorate their love. Inspired by Jaylan’s favorite color, lilac, and their shared love for gardening, the couple curated a theme that mirrored their passions. The venue transformed into a botanical haven, radiating the couple’s love for flowers and plants.
The personal touch was evident in every detail. Jaylan dedicated considerable time to plan the reception decorations, with centerpieces crafted by Jaylan’s skilled and crafty mom. Each piece held a story, a testament to the importance of family in this celebration. Already married, their focus shifted to ensuring their guests would have an unforgettable time during the reception.
The culinary choices reflected the couple’s desire for variety and individual preferences. Opting for a buffet-style feast, guests could savor a vegetarian option, chicken, and prime rib. Dessert was a delectable Italian cookie tray and a tower of cupcakes. The Mt Marcy Mixer, a signature drink, paid homage to their first date – a memorable hike up Mt Marcy in the Adirondacks. As the celebration unfolded, Jaylan and Zach eagerly looked forward to heartfelt toasts and open dancing. It was an incredible night, and we are so happy for Jaylan and Zach and wish them all the best!
