Since having Harper, we have realized just how blessed we are to be near to so many family and friends. Harper cried a lot our first couple nights home from the hospital (shocker, I know). A lot as in all night, till 5:00am when she finally fell asleep. Its true what the experts say, babies come out with reversed schedules. But you know you have it good when you can text your mom at 4:30am, in tears and about to give up, and she drives over immediately. During one of those daunting mornings, my mom came over, sent Leif and I to bed, and babysat, cleaned, and cooked while we slept. She’d wake me to feed but that’s about it. The truth is, we are surrounded by family and friends like this. People who would do anything for us, at any time of day, and for any reason. So this post is more of a thank you. Thank you, our dear family and friends, for letting us nap, buying us groceries, making us meals, bringing us flowers, holding the baby so we could have a break, visiting us when we are lonely, and being the wonderful people that you are. God has truly blessed us. Here are some of our favorite pictures from the hospital and home the first days after Harper was born.

Trying to find clothes that fit the little peanutSiblings! Naked baby! – I think she prefers the clothes
How could we resist? (thanks for the awesome skirt Jess, you know me too well!) Aunt Sonja and Grandma Nielsen came to visit and feed us
And Aunt Lauren and Uncle Tim
…And Rory
We didn’t do much for Easter, other than leave the house to go to Grammy and Pop’s for the first time – We didn’t even get a family Easter picture #firsttimeparentfail (I blame it on the fact that she came early, and I hadn’t planned on being out of the hospital for Easter, hence the lack of an Easter dress)
Finally, an obligatory before and after – it feels great to have her on the outside!
